When reporting a problem, the following helps. Please do not include private details such as event titles.
- What you were trying to do, and what happened
- Any message shown on screen
- Your environment (browser, or the Google Calendar mobile app)
How to use it
Hold several candidate dates
- Open calverge from the side panel on the right of Google Calendar
- Choose "New hold" and enter the title and timing
- Add candidate dates with the date picker (up to 20)
- Press the create button — one event is created per candidate
The events are created in gray, prefixed with [Hold], and with notifications
turned off, so a batch of candidates will not fire a batch of reminders.
Confirm a date
- Open one of the hold events, or pick the group from the list in the side panel
- Press "Confirm" on the candidate you want to keep
- Review the list of candidates that will be deleted, then run it
On confirmation the [Hold] prefix is removed from the title, and the color and notifications return
to your calendar defaults. The other candidates in the group are deleted.
Change a hold later
From the group screen you can add candidates, remove candidates, and edit the content. Content edits apply to every candidate in the group at once.
Clean up holds that fell through
Unconfirmed candidates whose end time passed more than a day ago can be deleted together from the list. This never happens automatically, and the affected candidates are shown before anything is deleted.
Frequently asked questions
Can events disappear without me doing anything?
No. calverge deletes only the hold events it created itself, and only after showing you the list of events that will be removed. Events you created by hand, or that other apps created, are never affected.
Can the provider see my events?
No. calverge never sends or stores your events on an external server. See the privacy policy for details.
How many candidates can one hold have?
Up to 20.
Does it work on a phone?
The add-on card shown when you open an event is available in the Google Calendar mobile app as well. The layout differs slightly depending on your environment.
What happens to my events if I uninstall it?
They stay in your calendar. calverge holds no data outside your calendar, so uninstalling it cannot lose events. You can delete any events you no longer want as usual.
Known limits
- Only your primary calendar is supported. Opening an event from another calendar — a holiday calendar or a shared one — shows "could not load the event". This is by design, not a defect
- The list shows holds starting within the last 30 days or later; older ones do not appear
- The gray color of a hold is independent of any event color you set in Calendar itself. On confirmation it returns to the default
